Co-lead with Nathaniel Télémaque, ‘Maps & Me’ was a guided creative workshop and collaborative artistic project. Inspired by Nathaniel’s research exploring Black place-making practices and the everyday, the workshop asked participants to consider how they perceive and define the places that they love.
Participants used materials provided to collaboratively build a map that hopes to reflect a place that is meaningful to them, answering questions like:
What is my connection to this place?
What does home look like to me?
How does home make me feel?
What are my everyday places and things?
How does this place connect to it’s surroundings?
